Solo, Skilled, and Finally Looking the Part: The Flashed Out Rebrand

Tayla came to us stuck in a loop that many small businesses owner find themselves in.. trying to DIY a brand, not loving what she landed on, and doing it again and again and again. She had her booking software and a domain she was paying for but not using. Tech "was not her zone of genius" (her words), everything felt scattered, and she came to us hoping to get more organized.

First Stop: A New, Professional Brand

Our branding specialist got to know Flashed Out's actual vibe, relaxing but results driven, elevated but approachable, and built a brand that finally felt uniquely her, not just another Pinterest board.

The Website

Next, we built her a mini Shopify site that pulled her services, her story, and her retail (she carries Colorescience, GlyMed+, Mixi, and more) all in one place.

The result? A fun, approachable, and professional website that is overflowing with personality and built to make shopping easy.

ESPECIALLY when it comes to tech.. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve experienced it myself. And I would even say I understand it more than the common person!

If someone makes you feel small or dumb because they’re explaining things in a way you cannot understand, that is THEIR issue, not yours.

There is always a way to explain things in a way someone can understand whether they are 5 years or 25 or 60.

So many of you come to us having worked with other agencies or developers who write you off just for being a woman. Maybe they belittle you or treat you differently because of your profession. Maybe they roll their eyes at your questions. Or maybe they want to prioritize how the website works and not how it looks.

Excellent website, great idea, and the packaging was also 🤌🏼 🍫 @coopshotfudge I am a SUCKER for creative packaging. This brand caught my eye at Whole Foods because their wax top is made to look like it’s melting down the side. Perfection. Great website too 🤤 💋@doll.face.skin.club I don’t care that she’s my client, her branding and the world she has created deserves to be shouted from the rooftops!! I was 13 when I was diagnosed with ADHD.

And like a lot of women, I got by without medication for years. Honors classes, soccer, university, two businesses, multiple jobs.. I made it work.

Until last year, when every coping mechanism I had… just stopped working.

I felt like I was constantly failing everyone. I’d swing between extreme productivity and completely crashing. I kept thinking if I just tried harder, something would click. The joy would come back.

So I decided to revisit medication. I tried it in college and hated it, but something kept nudging me to explore other options. I made an appointment, talked through my symptoms, and was prescribed Adderall.

And can yall believe.. the effects were immediate! The constant brain noise went quiet. I could do a full day of work, close my laptop, and actually feel satisfied. And enjoy my evening?? That alone has changed my life more than I can explain ?

Finding medication in my 30s has made me a better business owner, a better partner, and a better friend. And I wish I had done it sooner.

There are SO many incredible web designers out there who do the clean, minimal, neutral designs beautifully. And I’m finally coming to terms with that’s just not me 🤷‍♀️ I have never been elegant or luxurious or perfectly aesthetic. I’m loud, I love color, I’m queer, and its taken me awhile but I’ve built a business that is a safe space for people like me. I don’t know about you but when I started in the online space, I felt like I had to show up like every other “successful” entrepreneur to be taken seriously. But the more me I was? The more I started attracting the most incredible clients. Bold estis with loud brands and big personalities who were done playing small and ready to be seen. THAT is who I’m here for ❤️‍🔥 If you’ve ever felt like you have to be soft and neutral and perfectly curated to be successful in esthetics, I get it. I used to think the same thing about my own business. And then I realized the right clients weren’t going to find me until I stopped hiding the parts of me that make me, me. Watching this makes me grateful ? I have wanted and prayed to be in this stage of my life for so long. The streets were never for me, I wanna be in bed by 10 tysm

If in my very, very old age I could tell you this:

I hope you know you are so much more than your job. You are a great friend, partner, mother, cousin, neighbor, daughter. You have unique hobbies and quirks and strengths and faults and isn’t it so cool you get to experience being alive!!

And also you make peoples lives better, like they literally talk about how awesome you are in other rooms. I hope you know that!

So remember to have fun every so often or try new things. Have confidence in the fact you’re still here, after everything that you’ve gone through. And don’t forget to be nice to yourself!!!!

This was the first branding shoot taken in my own space, in the home I dreamed about for two years, captured by my sweet partner, which somehow makes every image feel even more special.

I’ve done 15+ photoshoots at this point… but these photos? These feel different. ✨ This was the first branding shoot taken in my own space, in the home I dreamed about for two years, captured by my sweet partner, which somehow makes every image feel even more special. For those who don’t know, in 2023 I left Austin after ending an engagement and moved back home to rebuild my life from the inside out.
